Six things to expect from Full Swing Season 3 on Netflix (2024)

Netflix have confirmed that Full Swing is returning for season three

Full Swing returns for a third season and is being tipped to be “the best ever.”

Netflix has confirmed that the incredibly popular golf docuseries, Full Swing, will return in 2025 for a third season.

The show provides golf fans with behind-the-scenes access to life on the PGA Tour. Joel Dahmen and Geno Bonalie were the fan favorites in the first two seasons with Keegan Bradley having his dreams of playing in the 2023 Ryder Cup squashed in season two, and Wyndham Clark candidly opening up about overcoming his psychological struggles in an emotional debut season.

Season three of the golf docuseries was probably inevitable given that recording for the show was given the green light back in February 2024. But since it has been confirmed by the streaming service here are six stories I expect to feature in Season Three.

Scottie Scheffler arrest

I don’t think anyone is not expecting Scottie Scheffler’s run-in with the LMPD to grace their TV screens once again when the third season of Full Swing airs in 2025. It was one of the biggest talking points of the 2024 PGA Tour season for a number of reasons. This is the World No.1 who’s absolutely dominated the men’s game this year, he was playing in his first tournament since welcoming his newborn son into the world, it happened at a Major Championship, and nothing like this had ever happened before.

Bryson’s US Open victory and Rory’s heartbreak

The 2024 US Open was arguably one of the best US Open’s in the championship’s history. Coming down the stretch two Goliaths of the sport were neck and neck and there couldn’t have been a better narrative even if people tried. Bryson Vs. Rory – LIV Vs. PGA.

Right then and there on that Sunday night in North Carolina, we witnessed the highs and lows of being a professional golfer. Heartache for McIlroy who was trying to end his 10-year Major Championship drought, but pure ecstasy for DeChambeau who won his second US Open. There’s definitely more to this story and everyone is eagerly anticipating what Executive Producer, Chad Mumm, has cooked up for this episode.

Keegan Bradley Ryder Cup captaincy

After watching the absolute devastation felt by Bradley having been left out of the fold for the 2023 USA Ryder Cup Team surely we can expect to see the elation he experienced after he was informed he would be captaining the side at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage.

Even though we all knew that Bradley had missed out on a Captain’s pick for the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone, we watched the scene where he took that phone call from the Ryder Cup Captain, Zach Johnson, on the edge of our seats wondering if he had been selected or not.

I can’t imagine there being as much drama around his selection for Captaincy but I’m sure everyone is wanting to see how Bradley received the news that he will be captaining his nation in 2025.

Robert MacIntyre’s emotional victory

One of the stand-out moments for me this year on the PGA Tour was Bob MacIntyre winning at the RBC Canadian Open with his dad, Dougie on the bag for the week. We all held our breath as that final putt dropped to the bottom of the cup in Toronto to claim his maiden PGA Tour victory.

At this point in the season, I think everyone was rooting for Bob because just a few weeks before that victory in Canada he openly spoke about the challenges he was facing playing on the PGA Tour thousands of miles from his home in Oban, Scotland.

I don’t doubt that we’ll also get to relive the moment when MacIntyre won his home Open in font of a massive crowd at North Berwick cheering him on after cruelly missing out on a victory at the Scottish Open this previous year thanks to a McIlroy masterclass.

Scottie Scheffler’s domination

We can’t just expect to see the doom and gloom that surrounded Scottie Scheffler this season on the PGA Tour. After all, there was a lot more good than bad. He undoubtedly ended the season as the most dominant figure in the men’s game and without Nelly Korda, the most dominant golfer on the planet.

In 2024, the World No.1 won seven times on the PGA Tour, including the Masters Tournament and the Tour Championship – where he was also crowned the FedEx Champion. He won the Players Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational in back-to-back weeks. Scheffler won the week after the Masters at the RBC Heritage before taking time off to spend time with his wife Meredith and their son Bennett.

Scheffler won the Memorial Tournament and Travelers Championship in June and he conquered all in France to add a Gold Medal at the 2024 Olympic Games to his extensive and ever-growing trophy cabinet.

Like all fans of the show, I hope we get to see the highs and lows of Scottie Scheffler’s season because it would be a shame to see one without the other.

YouTube golf explosion

I know this isn’t related to the PGA Tour in any way shape or form… or is it? At the Tour Championship we were treated to one of the most unlikely golf tournaments I think most people would ever have imagined watching – the Creator Classic.

On the Wednesday before the Tour Championship, 16 of the best YouTube and golf creators played a nine-hole competition on the back nine at East Lake in tournament conditions. It was a brilliant watch and it highlighted just how good these golfers are!

The entire event was initiated by Chad Mumm, the PGA Tour worked with his media and commerce company, Pro Shop, to bring the idea to fruition. An event like this shows that there’s a massive audience for this type of golf and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see some coverage of YouTube golf in Full Swing.

Golf Fans across the globe will be eagerly anticipating the release of Full Swing’s third season, and while there has been no official release date announced as of yet, Chad Mumm, when speaking on The Best Golf Podcast hinted that “season three will be the best season ever”.
