Giving the GMAT is a daunting task for many. This is not surprising given that the GMAT is one of the hardest exams to give in the world. It requires grit, determination, and hard work to crack this exam! This video talks about my personal experience with the GMAT and the trials and tribulations I went through to get my target score. It has the makings of a blockbuster movie with setbacks, pain, persistence, resilience, and victory! There were a lot of changes made in terms of my choice of degrees in my eventual journey to Purdue as well, and I think it's important for people to know that progress is not necessarily linear and decision-making is an important fundamental of life!1. Why During Undergrad: This section talks about why I decided to first attempt the GMAT during my undergrad years. I personally prefer keeping my academic and professional endeavors separate and thus thought it would make sense to get done with the GMAT before I started on my possible professional career!2. The First Innings! The First Shot: This section describes my harrowing experience with the exam on D-Day and the eventual build-up to that day. A lesson that sometimes pressure can get to us even when we are prepared to an optimal level.3. The Second Innings: This section talks about my second crack at giving the GMAT and my consequent success in bringing home the glory!https://lnkd.in/eTP8AfSH

💥So when I first stated my intention to go to school full-time, online self-directed, (I.E. I teach myself the material) while working full-time I received a lot of pushback and negativity. People told me that it would be too much work, too hard, that I'd get overwhelmed, fall behind, burnt out, etc. Little do they know ADHD brains were specifically designed to do what I'm doing and suffer NONE of those consequences. not only am I doing it, I'm thriving and loving it! The ability to immediately apply what im learning to the work I'm doing has been invaluable!🎟And so, I am super excited to announce my invitation to join the Xi Chapter of Kappa Beta Delta!! 🎖Kappa Beta Delta is an international honor society, established by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) to recognize students in accredited business or business-related associate degree programs for their high academic achievement.📒All students invited for membership meet the following qualifications:🪙1. Completed 12 credits at LCCC, six of which must be business or business-related🪙2. Grade point average of 3.0 or greater🪙3. In the top 20% of all enrolled students in ACBSP accredited associate degree programs.🥰Moral of the story, NEVER let ANYONE tell you that you "can't " do something! #collegelife #businessstudent #worklifeintegration #worklifeharmony #neurodivergent #neurodiversityawareness

Starting an Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASLHS) chapter on a campus can offer several benefits for both the institution and its non-traditional student population. Here are a few key reasons: *Recognition of Academic Excellence: Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society honors high academic achievement among adult learners, providing recognition and encouragement for their hard work and dedication. *Enhanced Student Engagement: An ASLHS chapter can increase engagement among non-traditional students by offering a sense of community and belonging. *Institutional Prestige: Establishing an ASLHS chapter can enhance the institution's reputation by demonstrating a commitment to supporting diverse student populations. *Scholarship Opportunities: ASLHS offers scholarships each year, which can help alleviate financial burdens and support their educational goals. *Support Network: It creates a support network for adult learners who often balance education with work, family, and other responsibilities.Don't wait! In January this year, I received an email from IBF’s CEO to nominate a person whom I felt worthy of being an IBF Fellow. I did some reflection, and nominated a 33-year industrial veteran for IBF’s consideration. One of the main criteria for IBF Fellowship is contribution to the industry. I have come across and known many industrial giants. They all have accumulated great professional achievements, and in the process, also accumulated very good person wealth for themselves. But when it comes to contribution back to the industry and the society, sometimes I find it rare. Therefore, when I come across one, I will intentionally seek him or her out, and provide a platform for effective contributions back to the industry and society. Why is it so important to contribute back to the industry and society? Because what defines a professional is not technical competency, that is a given. What defines a professional is also not about the high income he or she gotten, because with discipline, that is also a given. What defines a professional is that his or her existence has impacted the industry and society in a positive way; and his or her existence has also inspired others wanting to join the profession, not because of the glory or money, but because the profession impact others in a meaningfully positive way. In impacting others, we also impact ourselves, because that gives us the meaning of our existence, professional or otherwise. Allen

In March 2024, Peirce was honored to be recognized by Forbes for having one of the nation’s best associate degree programs in general studies. Forbes selected Peirce’s program because of the emphasis on flexibility, including the option for synchronous classes with instructors for an enhanced learning experience.
