postfix the definitive guide
Email is a funny thing. Users will happily work throughout the day not noticing it at all, but as soon as your mail server crashes, even the janitors call to let you know about it. So it helps to have a stable mail server around. Postfix is such a package.
Postfix's popularity has been on the rise for a few years now. I can't blame it, either. It's stable, feature rich, easy to manage, and secure. And this is coming from a former qmail admin, too.
Postfix: The Definitive Guide covers virtually everything there is to know about Postfix: architecture, relaying, mail lists, SASL, queues and more. Though the topics can get pretty in-depth technical-wise, there's still a balance of readability. Finally, Postfix weighs in at a mere 250 pages. Regular readers to Adminspotting already know my opinion on technical books -- keep it short and to the point.
Anyone who works with Postfix should really read this book. I'd bet even the experts might learn a new thing or two. Congratulations Mr. Dent, your book gets a 10/10.
