drupal
Drupal is probably the most popular Open Source Content Management System available today. I've used it in several test environments and can attest to its flexibility and ease of use. Drupal is the latest book on this popular CMS and it really does a nice job at covering all the basics.
Throughout the course of the book, David Mercer walks the reader through setting up a Drupal-driven site. The book starts out with some basic history and introductions and then goes into setting up a LAMP development environment on a Windows desktop. After that, Mr. Mercer goes over all of the standard Drupal settings: what they do and how to modify them. Creating both static and dynamic content is covered next followed by working with Themes and some advanced topics such as Flexinodes and Adsense. Finally, uploading the developed site to a production server is explained last.
While this book does a great job describing the process of getting a basic Drupal site up and running, I found it a bit too basic. I would have liked to have seen some more advanced topics covered such as manually creating a Theme and even digging into the core code a bit. Regardless, Drupal is a nice book for the beginning Drupal Admin. If you're new to the world of CMS packages and Drupal itself, I'd definitely pick this book up for a quick overview. I give it a 7/10 -- three points off for some missing advanced content and seven points for a quality beginners book.
